However, you can still get up close to Mcway Falls via the 0.5-mile (0.8km) Waterfall Overlook Trail. Unfortunately, McWay Beach is not open to the public. However, at low tide, the water crashes onto the sand, then becomes a tidefall at high tide, with the water directly emptying into the sea.
